Michael J. Kistler, 51, of Dakota Dunes, SD, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 in Sioux City, IA.

     Michael J. Kistler was born May 21, 1957 at Rapid City, SD. He grew up and received his education in various communities, graduating from high school in Gwinn, Michigan in 1975. In September of 1975, he entered military service and honorably served in the US Air Force until his retirement on October 31, 1995. At the time of his retirement, he had achieved the rank of SMSgt.

     He was united in marriage with Deborah Michael in Upper Heyford, England on June 25, 1977. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Michael moved to Sioux Falls where he attended the University of Sioux Falls. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from USF with a Bachelors Degree in business management. Upon graduation, he began work for Citibank, later moving to First Financial, and, most recently, working for Premier Bank Card. He was working for Premier Bank Card as the managing director at the time of his death.

     Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Deborah, of Dakota Dunes, SD; one daughter, Angela (Joel) Minor and their children, Elijah and Madeline, of San Marcos, TX; one son, Steven (Danielle) Kistler and their children, Dillin and Caitlyn, of Sioux City, IA; his parents, Duane and Donna Kistler, of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, Steven (Shelia) Kistler of Cheyenne, WY and Ted Kistler, of Sioux Falls, SD; and one sister, Lori Ann (Chris) Kocevar, of Sioux Falls, SD.

      He was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Kistler.

      Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Thursday at Miller West Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to service time on Thursday.
