Derick A. Lux was born on April 2, 1990. He is the son of Pete Lux and Crystal Klopf. Since Derick was a few months old, he lived with his Grandmother, Donna Shumate until after his eighteenth birthday. Derick and his friends always hung around Grandmas house - Grandma had an open door policy with all of Derick and Brian’s friends. After turning eighteen, he then went to live with his fiancée, Jazmin Sullivan.
Derick attended Hayward Elementary, Axtell Middle School, and Roosevelt High School. Derick started working for Graham Tire Co. in March of 2008. Derick really enjoyed working at Graham Tire, and had just been offered a promotion a few days before passing away.
Derick always loved to work on anything mechanical that had wheels on it. From 2004 thru 2006, Derick drove a race car either in the factory stock or hobby stock class, at either Hartford Speedway or Madison Speedway. He enjoyed the racing, but chose different adventures. Derick enjoyed all of his go carts, quads, motorcycles, etc.
He was always a busy guy. Derick was very easy to make friends with, and there are a lot of friends. Derick also enjoyed being an uncle, spending every moment he could with his nephew, Conor. He would talk about Conor all of the time.
Grateful for having shared his life are his fiancée, Jazmin Sullivan; his grandmother, Donna Shumate; grandpa, Gary (Gloria) Lyons; his mother, Crystal Klopf; his father, Pete Lux and stepmom, Amy; his grandfather, Ron (Lynn) Graves; his aunt, Paula and uncle, Ron (Casy) Graves; and all of his siblings, Brian Graves and Joseph Esmay and Trisha, Brittney, Tylor, Bryce, Jacob, and Madisyn Lux; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
