Raymond "Ray" Seewald

Ray G. Seewald, 81, beloved dad, brother and husband joined the Lord Feb. 28, 2010 at the VA Hospital.

Ray was born to Raymond H & Marcella Seewald on May 18, 1928 in Ferndale, Michigan, where he graduated High School. In July of 1948 Ray entered the U.S. Navy. In 1951, Ray married Lois. They lived in Norfolk , Virginia for a short time before moving to California, via Texas and Arizona, where they spent the next 32 years. In 1992, the couple moved to Sioux Falls .

Ray and Lois just celebrated their 59th anniversary. Ray retired after 35 years in law enforcement – US Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and was referred to as Cap'n Ray. Ray loved helping out at St. Michael Parish for the last 18 years.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Lois; 7 sons, Michael (Valerie), Mark, Richard, Steve (Mary), Greg, Chris and Peter; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons; sisters, Ann, Adelaide , Bea, Sally and Rose, all of Michigan .

Many thanks to the 100's of folks for your prayers for Ray especially his friends at the wellness center from # 14 for all the laughs.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Family will be present at St. Michael Catholic Church starting at 9 am on Wed., March 3rd with Mass being said at 10:30 am.
