Constance Jo Foley McCann age 52, died Monday March 1, 2010 at Sanford Medical Center. The Celebration of Life Mass will be said at 10:30 AM, Friday March 5th at St. Michaels Catholic Church. A private family interment at Woodlawn Cemetery will precede the Mass. The family will greet friends from 6-7:00 PM Thursday, March 4th at Miller West Funeral Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Since this is a celebration of her life, Conni requested no all-black or formal attire, please. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Constance Jo Foley McCann, daughter of Joseph Clifford and Constance Jane Porter Foley, was born July 24, 1957. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas grade school, Lake Central High (Madison, SD), and the University of SD (Nursing, Psychology) where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Conni married her college sweetheart, Ron P. McCann, on June 2, 1979. They lived in Omaha, NE, and Minneapolis and Montevideo, MN before settling in Sioux Falls in 1987. Conni worked at Sioux Valley (Sanford) Hospital as a registered nurse in the pre-surgical area of AM Admissions and served on the Education Committee and with Service Excellence. Conni was also very involved in the community and served on the mayor-appointed PATH committee, on the Roosevelt Booster Club President's Board and Renaissance committees, as an advisor and past alumni president for Kappa Alpha Theta, and was honored with the SD PTA Lifetime Member Achievement Award. As a member of St. Michael's Church, she continued as a Little Parish Leader, baptismal instructor, and marriage facilitator. Conni is preceded in death by her mother Connie Jane Porter-Foley (2007). She is survived by her loving husband Ron; daughter Kristin; sons Dave and Sean; father Cliff Foley; siblings Dick, Dan, Dave, Tony, Debbie, Chelle; aunts Jeanne Schrader and Collette Hofer; many nieces and nephews; special friends from her beloved sorority, the 35th Street birthday group, playgroup, Bunco; and all her close knit nursing friends.
