Adella (Della) Fogelman of Sioux Falls, SD went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2024.  She was 93.

Adella June (Schmidt) Fogelman was born on a farm near Marion, SD on July 11, 1931, one of 11 children of Henry and Nettie (Duerksen) Schmidt. She grew up in towns Marion, Hurley and Parker, SD where she attended and graduated from Parker High School in 1951.  Following high school, she attended the South Dakota Beauty Academy in Sioux Falls. In 1952 she met the love of her life, Alvin Fogelman, also of Parker, and the two were married on June 28, 1953, at the Parker Methodist Church. They moved to Sioux Falls where they lived the rest of their lives, having 5 children: Ava, Bryan, Carrie, Delana, and Erica.

Della worked primarily as a beautician and for many years owned Adella's Beauty Shop in the basement of their home on West 10th St. She also worked as a phonics tutor for the Sioux Falls School District. She had several creative hobbies including ceramics, sewing, art, and rock and gem hunting with Al. She sang with the Sweet Adelines for many years. She and Al loved to go dancing, and for a time were members of the Sioux Falls Polka Club. Della and Al were members of Linwood Wesleyan Church for several decades, being active in a variety of groups and ministries. A highlight was a group trip to the Holy Land she and Al took part in. After Al retired, they took their RV on adventures such as to Arizona and to volunteering projects as church builders. Della had great joy volunteering for Child Evangelism Fellowship over the years, teaching Good News Clubs, hosting 5 Day Clubs, and as a prayer warrior for children.

Adella was preceded in death by Alvin, her loving husband of nearly 61 years, her parents, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters. She is survived by her brother, Ray Schmidt of Tulsa, OK; sister, Blondena Ferguson of Hummelstown, PA; children, Ava Fogelman of Ashland, OR, Bryan (Karen) Fogelman of Vancouver, BC, Carrie (Mark) Bills of Sioux Falls, Delana (Bob) Reeves of Buckeye, AZ, Erica (Evan) Boyd of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
