Alverna "Babe" Robar, 98, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born on September 15, 1926, to Vern and Ann (Heng) Wilson in Dell Rapids, SD.

Private services will be held, and the burial will take place at Dell Rapids Cemetery.

Babe graduated from high school in Dell Rapids, South Dakota.  She was very active in her church in Dell Rapids, participating in the church choir and teaching Sunday school.  She attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for three and a half years. Babe worked full-time as a bookkeeper and office manager for Sioux Nation Vet Supply for 22 years before retiring in 1991. Babe enjoyed reading, knitting, solving crossword puzzles, and painting. Her greatest joy came from caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mom was a gift to this world, and as we say goodbye, our hearts are filled with immense gratitude for the life she lived and the love she shared, even though she didn't always express it.  We are grateful for her tough life, caring for each of us, and for her unconditional love despite our flaws, but with them.  She will be dearly missed until we meet again.

Grateful to have shared her life are her children, Susan (Larry) Nelson, Gregory (Sara) Robar, Steven (Mary) Robar, Nancee (Jeff) Taylor, Ann (Dale) Christenson, Jill (Jeff) Sterkel, and Toni Robar; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Robar, her daughter Jan Robar, and her parents.
