Amy Marie Walker, age 51, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 - 5:00pm on January 9th, 2026 at Miller Funeral Home Downtown (507 S Main Ave) with family present to greet friends.
Amy Walker was born on April 18th, 1974, to Gary and Donna Arens in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up attending school locally, attending Laura B. Anderson, Whittier, and Lincoln High School. She was happily united in marriage to Jeremy Walker on September 10th, 1992 in Sioux Falls, SD. Amy and Jeremy would be blessed with two children – Shanna and Cody. Amy went on to obtain her education in the nursing field through Kilian Community College out of Sioux Falls, and worked at Good Samaritan as a nurse.
Amy had many hobbies including fishing, embroidery, and playing video games. One of the things she loved the most was going to museums. She would take any of the children in her family that wanted to go. These museum trips will be cherished and remembered by all those who loved her.
If there was one hobby that Amy enjoyed most – it was going to concerts! Amy loved concerts, and often referred to them as her therapy. A band she particularly frequented the most was a band called Driven.
Amy took many memorable vacations with her family, including going to Minneapolis to visit the Renaissance Fair and also Valleyfair. Going to Six Flags Amusement Park in Georgia was also a vacation that was particularly special to her and her family.
Amy is survived by: her husband, Jeremy Walker of Sioux Falls; daughter, Shanna (James) Walker of Sioux Falls; son, Cody Walker; grandson, Devin Walker; sisters, Jennifer Arens and Desiree Opoka; and brother Gary Arens, Jr. Amy is preceded in death by her parents, Gary Sr and Donna Arens; Grandparents Charles and Sharon Arens; and great grandparents, Thomas Kirchen and Phylis Schmidt.
