Anthony Isakson, a man of myth and legend, creativity and intellect, died May 28, 2025 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Anthony James Isakson was born December 13, 1977 in Seattle WA, to David and Annie Isakson. He attended Vashon public Elementary and High School, graduating in 1996. After high school he worked at Colvos Creek Nursery and later worked at Cabinets Dakota for over a decade after moving to Aberdeen, SD in the fall of 1998 with family. In 2013, Anthony moved to Sioux Falls, SD where he worked for Star Mark cabinets for four years. After doing cabinet work for many years, Anthony worked some various jobs, like restaurant hood cleaning and a food distribution warehouse. In 2020, Anthony decided to take on a nomadic lifestyle in the last years of his life in Sioux Falls.

Anthony had a quiet, reserved personality, almost stoic at times. He had a quiet sense of humor as well, often having timely one liners out of nowhere that would make people laugh. His approach to problems were also calm and reserved as one time during a bus ride, a classmate was throwing a bruised apple and hit Anthony in the head. He stood up calmly picked the apple up, went to the classmate and smashed it on his head. He was not to be trifled with!

Along with his quiet personality and wit, Anthony was very intelligent and this was evident by his passion for creativity with drawing and woodworking. He created many wood carving pieces and passed some of his knowledge onto his youngest brother who loved doing projects with Anthony when they were younger. Anthony's drawings were amazing, he even built a drawing table that would use weights to create perpetual motion to draw intricate designs.

Anthony also had a talent for music, starting early when he played air guitar at the bus stop, a fond memory of his mother. He also had a knack for performance, this being riding in the back of a pickup while performing the William Tell overture on a piano for all of Vashon to hear.

Growing up, Anthony loved camping and fishing with family, especially when he got to dump bacon grease on the campfire! Anthony was also skilled with a blowgun which he displayed one time while camping with his brothers. While they were setting up their tent, Anthony disappeared and came back a short while later with a freshly hunted squirrel. Dinner is served!

Anthony had such a deep love for dogs that he often said he'd run away to the mountains just to have one. And honestly, anyone who knew him believed he just might. So when a litter of abandoned puppies appeared in the neighborhood, his parents knew it was the perfect chance — they let him keep one, and he named the pup Bandit. Bandit was a great family dog and Anthony absolutely loved her.

Anthony lives on in his parents, David and Annie Isakson, his brothers and sister, David Isakson, Matthew Isakson, Ambrosina Oren, Timothy Isakson and John Isakson. All of Anthony's family members are grateful to have shared his wonderful life.
