Arda B. Peterson, 96, of Sioux Falls SD passed away on Tuesday, April 03, 2018 at Ava's Hospice House.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 am Monday, April 9, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Ave. with interment at Hills of Rest Cemetery.

Arda Bernice Andersen, daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Lee) Andersen, was born September 2, 1921

At Grygla, MN.

She attended elementary school in Lockhart, MN, and graduated at Ada High School, Ada, MN.  She furthered her education at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.

She was united in marriage with Alvin "Jip" Peterson on June 6, 1948 in Ulen, MN.  He died suddenly in 1969.

Arda worked for many years with Braniff and Delta Airlines in Sioux Falls.  She was known as the unofficial "Goodwill Ambassador" welcoming travelers with her beautiful smile.

She was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her sister, Lila Rikhus (Sam); sister-in-law, Fern Andersen (Art); a cousin, Donald Stoen; and a close friend, Sheila Ward.

Arda was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bertha Andersen; her husband, Alvin Peterson; two brothers, Art and Stanley Andersen; two sisters, Ethel Thompson and Dagne Altman.
