Arden Waag passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Visitation with the family present will be from 1 to 3 pm with a prayer service at 2:30 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Miller Westside Chapel, 6200 West 41st Street. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1400 S. Duluth. Private interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Arden Wayne Waag was born in Akron, Iowa on August 29th, 1932 to George and Faye Waag. He grew up on the family farm near Alcester with his two brothers. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On his return he married Norma Feikema and they spent 53 years sharing life together. They were blessed with three children.

Arden worked for Sunshine Food Markets for his whole 36 year career. He started sacking potatoes in the warehouse and retired as the corporate treasurer and comptroller. He valued all the relationships he developed during his time at Sunshine. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at the cabin in the Black Hills whenever he could.

Arden remarried in 2019 to Linda Rykhus and they had the chance to enjoy almost seven years together.

Arden loved spending time with family and friends whom he made many wonderful memories with over the years. He cherished making connections with people, sharing a cup of coffee, a funny story, or a firm handshake and hello. Arden loved the Lord and would want nothing more than for others to know the saving grace of Jesus. He would want you to know that no matter where you are in life God awaits you with open arms.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Linda; three children, Steven (Cheryl) Waag, Kansas City, MO; Kay (Scott) DeWitt, Worthing, SD; Ann (Perry) Nugteren, Sioux Falls, SD; five grandchildren, Chris (Terri) Waag, Tim (Carissa) Schoffelman, Todd (Michelle) DeWitt, Tom (Kalie) Nugteren, Kate (Nick) Versaevel, 7 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Norma; his parents; brothers Lee, Gene and Eldon; and sister-in-law Bonnie Waag.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church Youth Fund.
