Audrey June Hardwick, residing in Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, just days after celebrating her 95th birthday. Born Audrey June Place on February 11, 1931, in Spring Valley, Wisconsin.

Audrey was a graduate of River Falls High School in Wisconsin. She furthered her education at the Ray Vogue Art School in Chicago, Illinois. Audrey applied her love of children in her position for many years at the Sioux Valley Hospital Day Care.

She was united in marriage to Charles Herbert and later to Dale Hardwick, both of whom preceded her in death. Audrey was an amazing mother and fantastic grandmother who adored her grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and love.

Audrey is survived by her sons, David Herbert (Lisa), Lincoln, NE, Jim Hardwick (Sharon), Helena, MT, Jeff Hardwick, and Mike Hardwick (Jane), Mantorville, MN; her brother, Erling Place; and her loving grandchildren and new great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles and Dale; and her beloved daughter, Joni Simons.

A memorial ceremony and reception will be held on March 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home, located at 507 S Main Avenue in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
