Beatrice "Betty" Grace, 98, of Sioux Falls, SD and longtime resident of rural Humboldt/Hartford, SD, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Avera McKennan Hospital with her family by her side.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday, October 6, at St. Michael Parish, 1600 S. Marion Road, Sioux Falls, SD with burial next to her husband, Francis, at St. Joseph Wellington Cemetery, Rural Humboldt, SD.

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 2:00 – 4:00 pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 pm Sunday, October 5, at Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st Street, Sioux Falls, SD.

Beatrice "Betty" Catherine Schulte, daughter of August and Lucy (Kayser) Schulte, was born June 23, 1927 in Emery, SD.  She graduated from Emery High School in 1945.  She attended one year at Notre Dame Junior College in Mitchell, SD then moved to Sioux Falls where she began working for Home Insurance Co.  Right before Valentines Day in 1948, Betty met her best friend at the Arkota Ballroom.

She was united in marriage with Francis Frederick Grace on November 9, 1948 in Emery, SD.  They began their lives together on a farm East of Sioux Falls where Betty worked hard as a devoted dairy farmer's wife and became a mother. They next farmed by Wall Lake, and then north of Humboldt before purchasing the family farm by Pumpkin Center.  Betty spent 32 years on the family farm raising their children, gardening, raising chickens and selling the eggs, and canning for her family.  She enjoyed sewing and making most of her children's clothing. Betty & Francis retired to Sioux Falls, SD in 1995.  They were blessed with seven children.

Betty was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, a longtime member of St. Joseph Wellington Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Women in Humboldt, SD. She loved having coffee with friends, doing puzzles, reading books, and keeping up with her ever growing family and all of their activities.

Grateful for having shared her life and her endless prayers and rosaries said for them are her children; Gerald (Carmen) Grace, Hartford, SD.   Janice (Gerald) Hanson, Sioux Falls, SD. Cynthia (Duane) Voelker, Colman, SD. Francis "Michael" (Geri) Grace, Hartford, SD.  Nicholas (Linda) Grace, Hartford, SD.  Theresa (Robert) Johnson, Sioux Falls, SD. Steven (Debra) Grace, Hartford, SD; 20 Grandchildren; 40 Great Grandchildren; her sister, Virginia (Tony) Heiberger, Hartford, SD, and sister-in-law Sharon Schulte, Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronald, a grandson, Paul, and the love of her life, Francis.
