Beverly Ann Christensen, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. To honor her wishes, private services will be held. She was a beloved and devout veteran, wife, mother, sister, cousin and compassionate member of her Chabad community.

Beverly was born in Cincinnati OH on November 25, 1957 to her parents, Samuel and Marion Weinstein. She spent her early years enjoying her days with her beloved brother Julian, and her cousins Jennifer, Larry, Glenn, Don, Janel and Steven.

Later she graduated from Woodward High School, with the love and support of her mentor, Della Brown, as well as the support of her family.

Beverly went on to bravely join the United States Army and dutifully served her country. Here was where she met her first husband Salah, whom she later had two children with, Natasha and Adam.

Years later in her career as a nurse in the army, she met her second husband and love of her life, James. After retiring from the military, they had their daughter Rachel, and moved to South Dakota, along with Adam, and Beverly's stepchildren, Bill and Andy.

During her time in Marion South Dakota, Beverly worked as a civilian nurse and stayed very involved in her community. She became a local hero for all of her work in the Spencer Tornado disaster of 1998, and this was only one example of the generosity in her heart for others. During this time of her life, she met a lifelong friend, Brenda Witt and the rest of the Witt Family.

Over the rest of her time in South Dakota, Beverly continued to be a dedicated wife, mother, and caregiver. After moving to Brandon South Dakota, she met her best friend Shirley, while assisting in caring for her late husband, Harold.

Later in life she was given the ability to practice her faith amongst others in the Jewish Community after meeting Rabbi Mendel Alperowitz and his wife, Mussi. Beverly took great pride in this, and her time with this newfound community was some of the best times in her life.

Beverly was loved by many and will be dearly missed. We will remember her in all her favorite things: tulips, anything purple, and playing scrabble to name a few. We will honor her by keeping her spirit of generosity in our hearts every day.

Beverly was preceded in death by her daughter Natasha, her mother and father, her aunt Shirley and Uncle Freddy, her cousins Glenn, Shaina, & Lindsay, and her mentor Della.

Beverly is survived by her husband Jim, her children Adam and Rachel, her brother Julian and his daughter Savannah, her cousins Jennifer, Larry, Don, Janel, and Steven, her best friend Shirley, and all of those in her beloved religious community.
