It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly Ann Knutson, who left us peacefully on February 25, 2025, at the age of 88. Beverly was born on April 21, 1936, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Herbert and Gilma Kroger. She grew up in Inwood, Iowa, where she attended school, before living in Sioux Falls, SD. She spent her life spreading love, joy, and a whole lot of humor to everyone around her.

Beverly's love story with Alvin Knutson began in 1986, and it was truly a match made in heaven. Together, they shared a life filled with laughter, adventures, and countless memories. She is now reunited with Alvin, and also with her daughter, Kim Pearson, her parents Herbert and Gilma, her dear brother Doug Kroger, son-in-law Randy Hoffman, great-grandson Layne Swier, and her special friend Julie Extine.

Beverly spent most of her career working at Avera for 20+ years and continued to volunteer there after her retirement. Though she held various jobs throughout her life, it was her role as a grandmother that she cherished the most. Beverly had a unique gift for making everyone feel like they were the center of the world. A natural-born conversationalist, she could talk to anyone for hours, and she certainly had a knack for making friends wherever she went. There is no shortage of "Bev" stories to go around. To know her was to love her.

Her family will always remember her sense of humor and boundless energy. She didn't mind a little mess when her grandkids were around — in fact, she was the first to encourage it. After all, there were very few rules when it came to having fun at Grandma's house!

A talented cribbage and bingo player, Beverly never turned down a good time or a chance to win. Every Tuesday afternoon you could spot Beverly walking into Eastway bowl, bowling bag in one hand and a grandchild in the other.  She was the life of the party, always the first to laugh and the last to leave. Her heart was as big as her personality, and she was a second mother and grandma to so many.

Left to lead in Beverly's legacy: her daughter, Lisa Hoffman of Seattle, WA, daughter, Karol (Scott) Dumdei of Sioux Falls, and son, James (Deborah) Swier of Howard, SD. She will also be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, Charles Hoffman, Tyler Hoffman, Samantha Swier, Stephanie Swier, Marie Anderson, William Swier, and Jakob Swier; son-in-law, Chris Pearson; sister-in-law, Lynn Kroger; and two nephews, Brad and Brian Kroger; her best friend, Janice Henjum; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward.

Beverly's imprint on our hearts and the world is indescribable, and though she's no longer with us, her infectious spirit, love for life, and the memories she created will live on forever.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00am Monday, March 3, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue, in Sioux Falls. Following a luncheon,family and friends will gather at the Richland Cemetery, Inwood, Iowa, for burial at 2:00pm.

"After we lay Beverly to rest at the cemetery, the family invites you to keep her spirit alive the way she would've wanted—by raising a glass at Eastway Bowl. Come have a beer (or two, she'd approve) and share your best Bev stories. Let's send her off with laughter, love, and maybe a gutter ball or two."
