Carol Callahan (White), age 64, of Hartford, South Dakota, passed away on May 21, 2025, surrounded by her family after a long battle with various medical conditions.

One of the greatest joys of Carol's life came with the birth of her daughter, Katrina. Becoming a mother was a deeply cherished role, and she devoted herself to raising Katrina with love, support, and strength. Carol found meaning and purpose in their close bond and the life they built together.

She is survived by her daughter Katrina (Jacob) Holck; her siblings Kristi (Greg) Staton, Tom (Michelle) White, and Denny (Cheryl) White; and her beloved cat, Callie. She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest brother.

Carol is also survived by members of her second family—those connected through her former husband—who remained a constant source of love and support. These include Douglas and Karen Callahan; Jim Callahan; Colleen (Mark) Lambrecht; Shannon (Ron) Graves; Pat Callahan; Greg (Sasha) Callahan; and grandchildren Gabriel, Jameson, and Deacon. Though not bound by blood, they were with her every step of the way, and their presence in her life was deeply treasured.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 26, at Miller Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st St. in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
