Charlyn Ladell "Chuck" Brooks, died November 27th, 2025, at Ava's House in Sioux falls, SD with his family by his side. He was 78.
Visitation is 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, December 1, 2025 at Miller Funeral Home (Westside location) 6200 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Peace Lutheran Church, 5509 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls, SD.
Chuck Brooks was born December 22nd, 1946, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD to Delbert and Morvia (Hagemeyer) Brooks. He graduated from Lennox High School in 1964 and graduated from Nettleton Commercial College. He was employed at Coca-Cola Bottling in Sioux Falls, and retired from Hy-Vee on January 30th of 2019.
On September 15th, 1973 he was married to Marsha Miller in Hawarden, IA. Residing in Sioux Falls, the couple purchased their first house on South Prairie Avenue in Sioux Falls became loving parents to their three sons.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, was a volunteer at Bantam Baseball, volunteered at Meals on Wheels.
Chuck enjoyed bowling, music, baseball, collecting sports memorabilia, collecting vinyls, and playing with his seven granddaughters and going to their events. As a couple, Chuck and Marsha enjoyed cruises, family vacations in the Black Hills, Paris in 2024, and enjoyed bowling as a couple. Chuck and Marsha also enjoyed working Augustana University sporting events together. Chuck was also a dedicated Bantam baseball coach for over 5 years and loved that sport dearly. Chuck will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, dad jokes, and easy going attitude.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Marsha; sons, Anthony (Jessica Appert), St. Paul, MN, Robert (Kara Stark), Watertown, SD, and Christopher (Maggi Brooks), Sioux Falls, SD. Seven granddaughters; brother Cordell Brooks (Kristi Brooks), Sioux Falls, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; and baby son Brooks.
Memorials made be directed to Peace Lutheran Church (5509 W 41st, Sioux Falls, SD) or Augustana University (Sioux Falls, SD).
