Chinta Chaopholuang, 65, of Brookings, South Dakota, and Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:31 PM with her husband and friends by her side, and with the caring staff at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Chinta was born on August 01, 1960, in Thailand. She grew up surrounded by the enduring love of three siblings - Wanna, Winai & Auyphon. Having faced the profound loss of her mother in her childhood, Chinta developed a courageous and resilient spirit that defined her life journey. Supported by her elder sister, Wanna, in her early life, Chinta has always had an unwavering commitment to contribute to her family and cherish everyone in her life. In 1996, Chinta had her son, Chaiyapuk, who was the light of her life — a joy beyond measure and the lifelong purpose that guided her every step.

In 1999, driven by the desire to provide a better life for her family, Chinta went on her journey to the United States. Facing all the challenges in a foreign country, Chinta created a legacy by her bravery, grit, and dedication. She sacrificed her own comfort to build a firm foundation for her family's future — her tireless hard work gave rise to the establishment and prosperity of her family's business, Charliena Resort, and ensured her beloved son was afforded opportunities she herself never had.

Chinta was a devoted archivist of memories, keeping the stories and moments of those she loved tenderly alive. She enjoyed taking photos and collecting souvenirs — keepsakes that have since become treasures to those she left behind, tracing the story of a life beautifully lived. She held a deep love for the food and culture of her motherland, which kept the memories of her early life close to her heart. She cherished every relationship she held, leaving behind sweet and lasting memories in the hearts of all who knew her — friends, family, and all whose lives she touched.

Chinta Chaopholuang will be remembered as a warm and brave soul, devoted wholeheartedly to her family and friends, and ever grateful for the gift of life. Her presence brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Chinta has shared her life with her husband, Ted Schaghy; son, Chaiyapuk Titinanapun; sister, Wanna Titinanapun; brothers, Winai Rattanajaroentham, Auyphon Rattanajaroentham; and brother-in-law, Suwitcha Titinanapun. She was preceded in death by her father, Pha Siangeung, and mother, Anong Taothagu.

A Celebration of Life event for Chinta will be held in her beloved town of Brookings, South Dakota.  Date, time and place is being decided.
