Daniel Buda, 77, of Humboldt, SD passed away on Wednesday February 19, 2025, at the Diamond Care Center, Bridgewater, SD.

Memorial Service will be at 10:00am Tuesday, March 4th, at Miller Funeral Home Downtown, 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD. Family will greet friends one hour prior. Military Burial will be held at noon, at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Daniel Anthony Buda was born December 25, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI, to Steven and Florence Buda. He graduated from St. John's Cathedral High School in 1966. Following high school, Dan enlisted in the Navy where he distinguished himself as a Naval Corpsman in Vietnam. In 1969, he was honorably discharged and returned to Milwaukee.

While working as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist, at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, Dan met Janet Lown, a Registered Nurse. Dan and Janet were married on September 4, 1971. They have three children; Matthew (Sioux Falls), Timothy (Chippewa Falls, WI) and Joseph (Holmen, WI). Dan worked as a Perfusionist in various cities throughout his career. After retirement, Dan and Janet settled in Humboldt, SD.

Throughout his life, Dan was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed both big and small game hunting throughout the Midwest. Dan also took pleasure in both competitive and leisurely fishing. However, his greatest joy was when he was able to share these passions with his family and friends.

Dan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet. His sons Matthew, Timothy (wife Lindsay), and Joseph (wife Kelly). Grandchildren Micaela, Madilynn, Emmett, and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Florence, Janet's parents Frank and Mary Lown, along with his grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and brothers in law.
