Daniel Harley Winklepleck, known to his family as "Zoom", 67, of Crooks, South Dakota, died Monday, August 10, 2026, at Bethany Home in Brandon. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home - Westside Chapel (6200 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls)  with visitation beginning one hour prior. Dan will be laid to rest at St. Michael Cemetery following the service.

Dan was born April 20th, 1959, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He grew up in Sioux Falls, where he attended and graduated from Washington High School.

In January of 1983, Dan Winklepleck married Julie Moore of Sioux Falls. Together they welcomed twin boys Ryan & Cory in March of 1987. Dan's early career was as a Kitchen and Catering Manager for Hy-Vee Foods before opening Deli Dan's in Downtown Sioux Falls. Later in life, he worked as a salesman for Maplehurst before becoming the proprietor of the 38 Roadhouse Bar on the outskirts of Sioux Falls.

The 38 Roadhouse wasn't just a business to him. It was a gathering place. A place where friends became family, stories were shared, memories were made, and everyone was welcome to pull up a chair. He loved seeing people come together, and he took pride in creating a place where the community could thrive.

Dan believed in giving back. Whether it was organizing poker runs, supporting local charities, or simply showing up when someone needed a helping hand, he was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back if you asked. He knew that even small acts of generosity could make a lasting difference.

Dan spent his life living outdoors in his free time. Dan was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He enjoyed riding his Spyder and going to Sturgis for the Rally.

Grateful for having shared his life are his sons, Ryan (Jamie) Winklepleck, of Sioux Falls and Cory (Emily) Winklepleck of Cresco, IA; siblings, Joseph (Monica) Winklepleck III of Sioux Falls, Mike Winklepleck Of Sioux City, IA, Cheryl Winklepleck of Cherokee, IA, Mark (Sue) Winklepleck of White, SD, Pat Winklepleck of Sioux City, IA, and Jon (Jodi) Winklepleck of Sioux Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beverly Winklepleck; nephew, Corp. Nathan Schubert; sisters-in-law, Susie Winklepleck and Mary Winklepleck; and brother-in-law, Drew Schubert.
