Obituary

Danielle C. Hurley, of Brookings, South Dakota, passed away on September 22, 2026.

Danielle was a loving mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, friend, and so much more to the many people whose lives she touched. Above all else, Danielle loved her family and close friends fiercely. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Elliott, 12, and Hunter, 10, who were the center of her world and whom she loved more than anything.

Danielle spent many years working in restaurant management, most recently as a manager at Papa John’s. She was known for her generosity, her big heart, and her wild and zany sense of humor. Danelle had a way of making life more memorable, and those fortunate enough to know her closely will remember the laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments she brought into their lives.

Danielle was creative and adventurous. She loved drawing and enjoyed tattooing as a hobby, putting her artistic talent and imagination into everything she created. She loved the freedom of the open road on her motorcycle and was also a talented fisherman who enjoyed being outdoors.

But more than any hobby, job, or adventure, Danielle loved her people. She loved her family and friends deeply and fiercely. She was extremely generous and would give whatever she could to those she cared about. She was loved and adored by all who were lucky enough to have her in their lives.

In keeping with the generous spirit that defined her life, Danielle donated her organs so that others could have the gift of life. Even in her passing, she continued to give to others, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and generosity that will live on.

Danielle is survived by her sons, Elliott and Hunter; her mother, Marie; her grandmother, Rosemarie; her sister, Angelina; her brothers, Brandon and Conner; her uncle, David; her aunt, Michelle; and many other family members and close friends who will carry her memory with them.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Nancy; her stepfather, Ed; her nephew, Alwyn; and her uncle, Mike.

A memorial service for Danielle will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home Westside, 6200 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Danielle loved Halloween, and in true Danielle fashion, her family invites everyone who wishes to attend to feel free to come in costume and celebrate her life in a way that reflects the fun, unique, and unforgettable person she was.

Danielle will be deeply missed by her sons, her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Her memory will live on through the people she loved, the lives she touched, the laughter she shared, and the countless stories that will be told about her for years to come.

She was loved fiercely, lived boldly, and will never be forgotten.
