Obituary

Darlene E. Muehler, Sioux Falls, SD, passed away November 10, 2024, at Sanford Ava's House. She was 85.

Darlene was born in 1939 in Hankinson, ND, to Killian and Effie (Murray) Zentner. She grew up in Hankinson, ND, where she attended and graduated from St. Frances Academy in 1957.

In May 1958, she was united in marriage to Paul Muehler. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They raised their family of six sons in Hankinson after Paul graduated from law school.

Darlene attended ND State School of Science and graduated from the Practical Nursing Program. She then worked as an LPN.  Darlene also worked for Muehler Law Office as an administrative assistant.

Darlene relished traveling with family and friends and enjoyed bus tours, cruises, and trips to Florida. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went. Passionate about sharing God's love with others, she had a contagious joy that drew people near to her.

Darlene's legacy is one of unwavering love, loyalty, and dedication. Her family will forever treasure the memories of holiday gatherings, family events, and countless moments filled with food, warmth, and laughter. Beyond her family, Darlene's passions included reading, singing, golfing, and attending bible study.  Her family and friends will deeply miss her warm smile, her amazing dinners, and her unwavering kindness.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Paul; sons, Brian (Joan) Muehler, Moorehead, MN, Scott (Kari) Muehler, of Wahpeton, ND, Darin (Kristi) Muehler of Simi Valley, CA, Todd (Kerri) Muehler, of Vermillion, SD, Tim (Paula) Muehler, of Madison Lake, MN; daughter-in-law, Stacie Muehler, of Daphne, AL; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jason, her sister, Rosie; and her brother, Lowell "Sonny."

The burial will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Harwood, ND, at a later date.
