Denny was born to John and Edna (Priest) Muchow on February 26, 1946 in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended Muchow Country School and graduated from Parker High School in 1964. Following high school, he had a short stint at USD and the US Air Force. In the end, Denny never strayed from his roots and was a life-long farmer.
Denny married Joyce Edberg on September 24, 1966 and together they shared almost 60 years of love and partnership.
Denny farmed in the Hartford area most of his life, with a few other short career detours along the way. Fuel hauler, truck driver/dispatcher, yard manager, and waste oil collector, just to name a few. He even tried his hand at auto-cad design for a short time. He never really had any “full-time” hobbies but did enjoy hunting in his earlier years, camping, and playing cards with friends and family. He also loved his classic cars and even managed to restore a couple of them. Along the way, Denny served on the WCHS school board for many years, holding all positions. He was a 51-year member of the Hartford American Legion, served on the Minnehaha County Rural Water Board, was a lifelong member of the NRA, and donated 15 gallons of blood to the blood bank. Denny was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Sioux Falls.
Denny is survived by his wife, Joyce (Edberg), Son Bryon (Jen), Daughter Kimberly Profitt (Marshall), grandchildren Kaylee & Julia Muchow and Serenity Profitt. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Diane Lewin, and Aunt Luella Early.
