Donna Rodig, 92, currently of Sioux Falls and longtime resident of Belle Fourche, SD passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 31 at Miller Funeral Home Downtown, 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD with burial at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.

The family will be present one hour prior to the service to greet friends.

Donna Lou Kroger, daughter of Alfred Kroger and Adeline Radke and stepfather, Harold Dodds, was born June 10, 1932 near Gann Valley, SD.  As a young child, the family moved to Belle Fourche, SD.  She graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1950.  She began working at First National Bank.

Donna was united in marriage with Robert Rodig on November 6, 1955 in Belle Fourche, SD.  They were blessed with three children, Mark, Stacie and Todd.  She stayed home to raise the family until the children got a little older.  She then began working as a teacher's aide where she worked for many years.  In the summer season she and Robert helped manage the Tastee Freeze Drive Inn in Belle Fourche.  She also had a few other jobs to keep her busy.

In the early 2000's they moved to Sioux Falls and brought Donna's mother, Adeline with them to Sioux Falls.  Donna loved watching her children grow and succeed and then watching her grandchildren and their activities.  Donna loved Christmas and the baking of cookies and candies.  Each family would receive a pan of caramel rolls for Christmas morning.

Donna was a woman of strong faith in God and was inspired by daily prayer.  She really enjoyed sports and was a Denver Broncos fan.  She enjoyed professional sports and college sports.  She also enjoyed playing cards especially Bridge.  She had made a lot of friends in her card groups.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 69 years, Robert Rodig, Sioux Falls, SD; three children, Dr Mark (Rene) Rodig, Sioux Falls, SD, Stacie (Derrick) Benjamin, Lancaster, CA, Todd (Jane) Rodig, Yankton, SD; nine grandchildren and eight (with one on the way) great-grandchildren, Luke (Anika) and their children, Brooks and Liam, Caleb, Halie (Reece) and their children, Gage and Gus, Jerral and his children, Julius and Anastasia, Samantha and her children, Cloud and Cedar, Savannah, Katie (Tanner) and new baby any day, Kylie, and Morgan. Donna is also survived by many relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline and Harold Dodds.
