Obituary

Donna was born to Walter and Genevieve Davidson on July 27, 1949. She spent most of her childhood on a farm northwest of Sioux Falls, where she developed a love for horses, riding, and all the farm animals.

While in high school, Donna worked as a bookkeeper at the Ramkota. She continued working there until she married and moved to Colorado in 1968. While living in Colorado, she enjoyed camping and four-wheeling in the Rockies.

Donna moved to Beresford in 1978. Over the years, she held various clerical positions and supplemented her income by babysitting. She also had opportunities to work with horses, training and caring for them. After moving to Sioux Falls, Donna continued working in various positions before retiring after 18½ years in human resources at Children’s Home Society.

Donna had a special ability to find the best in everyone. Her strong faith and deep connection to God were a source of comfort and strength throughout her life. She cared deeply for her loved ones, and her ever-present worry for their well-being reflected just how much she loved them.

Donna was extremely proud of her children and felt fortunate to have such a wonderful son-in-law and was blessed to have her Angel Nikki. Her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy and were a blessing in her life.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Genevieve Davidson, and her sister-in-law, Mary Davidson.

She is survived by her son, Wally Theel; daughter, Kristie Breshears (Reggie Breshears); grandchildren, Logan Theel, Natalie Theel, Blaine Breshears, and Vance Breshears; brother, Ed Davidson; and cousins, nieces, nephews and many good friends.

Donna’s love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in God’s peace, knowing how deeply she was loved.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, 11:00 AM, October 26, 2026 at Westside Lutheran Church (3901 Oklahoma Ave, Sioux Falls, SD), with a visitation one hour prior.
