Donna Mae Woodard, 71, of Sioux Falls, SD passed from this life to the next on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, with a memorial service following at 6:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home, Downtown location, 507 S. Main Ave, Sioux Falls, SD, on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Donna Mae (Von Minden) Woodard was born on May 3, 1954, in Ponca, Nebraska, to Karl Heinrich Diedrich Von Minden and Marie Maxine (Rhodman) Von Minden. Donna was a devoted wife and mother. She worked in warehouse and manufacturing throughout her life before retiring from Electronic Systems, Inc after 25 years.
Donna attended school in Waterbury, Nebraska and graduated from Ponca High School in 1973. She attended Western Iowa Tech Community College twice, first earning a degree in Law Enforcement and later a degree in Central Processing Technology.
Donna lived in Waterbury, Nebraska and South Sioux City, Nebraska and worked for Zenith and Donnelly Marketing. After getting her Law Enforcement diploma she worked for the Dixon County Sheriff's Department as a Dispatcher.
She then worked for Domino's Pizza where she met her future husband. Donna married Ronald LeeRoy Woodard in South Sioux City, Nebraska on May 26, 1990. They moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she lived until her passing.
After moving to Sioux Falls, Donna worked for Domino's Pizza. She then worked at Electronic Systems, Inc until her retirement after 25 years.
Donna was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Brookings Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Donna has two sons, Chad Von Minden and Bryan Woodard. Donna enjoyed helping with the activities that involved her sons. She was a Cub Scout leader and a Scout Leader. She taught Sunday School. She enjoyed being a Band Parent and Chaperone for Lincoln High School Marching Band.
Donna's many passions included collecting cookbooks and snow globes, gardening and reading. She was a huge fan of Harry Potter (both the books and the movies) and collected Harry Potter memorabilia. She enjoyed watching true crime programs and was obsessed with Little House on the Prairie. She read the Little House books, watched the reruns of the TV show often and collected books about the author and the various actors. Donna was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and in her later years became a Sioux Falls Stampede fan holding season tickets for a number of years.
Donna is survived by her husband Ronald Woodard, two sons, Chad Von Minden and Bryan Woodard and a half sister Linda Sump. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Robert Von Minden and Diedrich (Rock) Von Minden and by her sister Anne (Von Minden) Wedekind.
