Dorothy L. Radloff, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the age of 97.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home, located at 507 S. Main Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Roy, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.

D orothy Lavern (Reinhardt) Radloff was born June 21, 1928 to Emil and Ella (Rohlff) Reinhardt on the family farm near Wayne, Nebraska. Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at First Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Wayne. She attended First Trinity Lutheran School in Altona, Nebraska. Her fondest childhood memories were of her grandfather, Oscar Reinhardt, and how much he cared for her as a child.  She later attended Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska.

After her studies at Midland College, she returned to Wayne and worked at a bank.  She moved to Fremont to accept an office administration position.  While in Fremont, she attended Trinity Lutheran Church, where she met her future husband, Roy.  They were married on November 27, 1955 and moved to Springfield, Illinois, where Roy completed his seminary education.  Roy's pastoral church callings moved the growing family to Shell Rock, Iowa; Fairbank, Iowa; Ottumwa, Iowa; and Eyota, Minnesota. Dorothy held various positions in Ottumwa and Eyota doing bookkeeping work for Good Samaritan Center, a medical supply company, and Olmsted County Social Services.  When the couple retired, they moved to Sioux Falls to be near daughters and families.

Dorothy enjoyed teaching Sunday School and directing children's choirs. Her favorite hobbies were canning fruits and vegetables, sewing clothes for her family, baking, gardening food and flowers, reading, embroidery, and word puzzles.  Dorothy and Roy traveled during their retirement years and they visited 49 states, the Canadian provinces and Europe.  Dorothy was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, enjoying the LWML and Senior Fellowship.  She spent her last years at Stoneybrook Assisted Living and Bethany Home in Sioux Falls.

Dorothy is survived by her four daughters and families: Jane Johnson, Crystal Lake, IL, Beth (Steve) Matson, Sioux Falls, Joan (Mark) Javers, Harrisburg, and Lesa (Craig) Harr, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Johnson, Katherine Johnson (Ben Farmer), Rachel (Patrick) DiSanto, Ethan (Karen) Javers, Lucas Harr, and Levi Harr and six great-granddaughters.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 2014; parents Emil and Ella Reinhardt, sisters Lucille Shiery Toepel and Pearl Youngmeyer; brother Merlin Reinhardt and son-in-law Wayne Johnson.
