Eleanor Beck, 90 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Ava's Hospice House.

Visitation with the family present will be from 4 to 6pm on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 South Main Avenue. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Brandon Lutheran Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Eleanor Mae Peterson, daughter of Melvin and Violet (Vetos) Peterson, was born on May 28, 1935. She grew up in Brandon, SD, and graduated from Brandon High School.

Eleanor was united in marriage with Gordon Beck on October 11, 1957. The couple lived in Sioux Falls and Eleanor began a career with Dakon Group as a personal secretary. She transferred to Pace Manufacturing where she continued until retiring.

Eleanor and Gordon enjoyed travelling to Kalispell, MT, to visit their son David and to Washington to visit other family. She was very active at the Brandon Lutheran Church and helped with communion and funeral lunches. Motherly and kind, Eleanor had a warm approach to people and made them feel at home.

Gordon passed away on November 30, 2024 and Eleanor remained in Sioux Falls.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son David, Sioux Falls, SD; granddaughter Sadie Beck, Sioux Falls, SD; great-granddaughter Tulah; and many other relatives and friends.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, sister Shirley Peterson, and brothers Lestr, Steve, and Marvin.
