Ellen Formiller, age 89, went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2025, at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls, SD, with her family by her side, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Dow Rummel Village Chapel, 1321 W. Dow Rummel St., Sioux Falls, SD, 57104.

Ellen Margaret Formiller was born on February 24th, 1936, in Milwaukee, WI to William and Edna (Reith) Wissing.

She was united in marriage with Edward J. Formiller on March 2nd, 1957 in New Orleans. The couple moved around to various places before landing in Sioux Falls, SD in 1968. They were blessed with four children.

After raising her children, Ellen worked in the office at Southeastern Dental Center, a career she thoroughly enjoyed and stayed at for many years.

Ellen was an avid biker and spent much of her time at the fitness center. Rain or shine, she always found the time to go for long walks, often taking along her beloved dachshunds, the dog breed she adored the most. Ed and Ellen enjoyed spending time together sitting on their screened in porch, vacationing to the ocean, relaxing on cruises, and making frequent visits to family in Wisconsin. Ellen spread joy and kindness wherever she went. Her smile and laugh were infectious, and her sense of humor kept others laughing along with her. She had a deep faith and modeled Christ's love in her daily life, encouraging those around her to do the same.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Ann (Jeff) Dolge, RJ (Jode) Formiller, Kathryn (Brad) Dale, Michael (Okjin) Formiller; nine grandchildren and their spouses, nine great-grandchildren with two more on the way; Sister, Myrn, Sister-in-law, Ana Maria, faithful friend, Val, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, parents, sister, Kathleen, and brother, Dick.
