Eloise Vogelzang, 90 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Sanford USD Medical Center.

Private services will be held with burial at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, IA.

Eloise Conway, daughter of Orville and Neva (Bedard) Conway, was born on February 11, 1934, on a farm in Union County, SD, the youngest of five children. She attended Williams and Scott Country Schools. She graduated from Hawarden, IA High School.

Eloise was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart Dick "Clancy: Vogelzang on July 2, 1952.Dick passed away a few days after their 56-year wedding anniversary. From this union four sons were born: Michael, Mitchel, Steven, and Timothy.

Her husband's employment took them to Chamberlain, Hawarden, and Sioux City. In 1977, they were transferred to Sioux Falls where it became their home. While living in Iowa she worked at the Hawarden High School principal's office and later at Lawton-Bronson High School principal's office.

Eloise was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed coffee or lunch with her close friends whose friendship she always valued. Her favorite past-times were watching Major League Baseball games. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed playing cards and was a dog lover, especially her "Westie".

Grateful for having shared her life are her sons Michael of Sioux Falls, SD, and Steven of Sioux City; two nieces Cathie Brown of Hawarden, IA, Jeanne Stanton of Sioux City; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Eloise was preceded in death by her husband Dick; her parents; two sons Mitchel and Timothy; a niece Randee Daale; two sisters; and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society.
