Eugene C. Parker, age 86 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls.

Eugene Claire Parker was born January 8th, 1936 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He and his family moved to Southern California where he attended Inglewood high and became class President and captain of the Basketball team. Eugene went on to college and graduated Pepperdine University with a BA in Business administration and received the Wall Street Journal award for outstanding student for maintaining a high-grade average while working full time. Eugene married Shirley Parker in 1955 and they had three sons together, David, Ronald and George. The family loved to visit Yosemite and Lake Tahoe together.  He worked for Standard Oil, Sears, Trans America, and Rockwell.

Eugene later married longtime friend Ruthie Parker in 1987 and they lived in Seal Beach CA until his retirement from Rockwell in February of 1993. Eugene and Ruthie made their home in Sioux Falls, SD. Eugene enjoyed the game of golf and watched sports during his retirement. Together Eugene and Ruthie enjoyed family events, both with his family and hers, visiting the Black Hills, attending Renner Lutheran Church and most of all being together. They were married 34 years and Eugene said "Never Had a Bad Day"

Eugene is survived by his sons, David (Nancy) Parker, Ronald (Sherry) Parker, and George (Dana Conde) Parker; grandchildren, Katie (Corey Ott) Parker, Ryan Parker, Kristina Parker, Nicholas Parker, Sabrina Parker, and Samantha Parker; and great-granddaughter, Blakely Ott, all from California.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie Eggers; parents, Clair and Marjory Parker; sister and brother-in-law, Rod and Delores Vignovich.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Miller Funeral Home - downtown, 507 S. Main Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.
