Fred Koehn, 67 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Sanford Medical Center.

Fred G. Koehn, son of Alfred and Madelyn (Neiderhiser) Koehn, was born on February 4, 1944, in Fresno, California. He grew up in Sioux Falls, SD, and attended Lincoln Grade School, Axtell Park, Washington High School, and Augustana College.

Fred's professional career was in banking and finance. He worked in South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, and then came back to Sioux Falls.

Fred was united in marriage with Sharon Hoekman on May 23, 1983, in Sioux Falls, SD.

When there was free time Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, and traveling. He was a devoted Nebraska Cornhusker fan, and loved his cats Annie, Sam, and Sadie. Family and friends were an especially important part of Fred's life.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Shari Koehn, Sioux Falls, SD; sons Ken Koehn, Antioch, TN, Chris Koehn and his wife Rhonda, Pembroke Pines, FL; daughter Kelly Michels and her husband Eric, Atascadero, CA; brothers Bill Koehn and his wife Laura, Olathe, KS, Tim Koehn and his wife Barb, Denver, CO; three grandchildren Craig, Karly, and Ryan; and many other relatives and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home, 13th & Main.
