Genevieve Lucille Walker passed away on March 25, 2025, at the age of 98, in Sioux Falls, SD.

Genevieve was born to George and Rena Hering on April 14, 1926, in Ellsworth, MN.

Genevieve graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD.  After high school, she joined the US Cadet Nurse Corps and graduated from Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. Genevieve worked as an operating room nurse at Sioux Valley Hospital for 20 years and then as a transcriptionist at Urology Specialists in Sioux Falls until her retirement in 1991.

After retirement, Genevieve was active in the Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.  Her highlight of that affiliation was participation as a tour guide for the Sioux Empire Medical Museum installed at Sanford Health. She was also a member of the McCrossan Women's Auxiliary and Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Walker; brother, "Bud" Hering, and companion, Barton Perrizo.  She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Koenig and Susan Goodsman (Charles). She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
