Gino D. Gravett, 57, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Sanford/USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 5, at Miller Funeral Home Downtown, 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD with burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 4 with a time of sharing at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Gino was born to Gerald G. Gravett and Barbara J. Gravett in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on June 26, 1968. He was baptized at First Baptist Church and was part of the youth group and the baseball team there. He attended camp Judson in the summers as well as summer drama camp. He was an avid participant in the Young People's Theater group. In high school, he was part of Washington High School's Theater Program, Mime Troop, and Oral Interp.

He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1996 and the landscape of his life was greatly shaped by the progression of this disease. He moved with his young family to Wyoming in 1998. Gino graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English and Theater in 2004. He worked several jobs over the course of his life, with his favorite being Board Operator and Weekend Jazz DJ at Wyoming Public Radio. He ended his working career as an educator earlier than he would have liked due to the advancement of the M.S.

He loved music almost as much as he loved his family. He had such a vast knowledge and appreciation of music, but a particular affection for jazz and blues. He was also a sports fanatic, and avidly followed and rooted for the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings, regardless of how well they were performing. He was frequently spotted sporting gear from both teams at the same time. He enjoyed a good hacky sack session with friends nearly as much as a good game of cribbage.

He cherished making other people laugh, and had a smile that could light up a room. He also often had a slightly mischievous smile, like he was constantly plotting about what he could do or say to get others to smile with him. He had a special smirk when he told a particularly bad joke that accomplished his goal of getting others to laugh, or at least smile a little.

Gino was a father, brother, son, partner, friend and so much more. He was not solely defined by his relation to others, but his family and his relationships with his friends and community were extremely important to him. He loved to help others and to be useful in whatever way he was able.

He died in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on October 31, 2025 at the age of 57. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Donald and Genevieve Gravett, and Emil and Louise Tiezzi, as well as his father, Gerald Gravett. He is survived by his mother, Barbara, his sisters, Domenica and Marisa, his high school sweetheart, Amy, his children Ashley, Cayle, and Jonah, and his grandchildren, Liam, Lily, and Bo.
