Gladys Gunderson, age 88, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Sanford Hospice Foundation Cottage in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Westminster Presbyterian Church (3801 E. 26th St., Sioux Falls, SD).

Gladys was born on September 13, 1936 to Adolph and Genevieve "Jenny" (Blanchard) Wahl in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. She graduated from Wessington Springs High School and then attended Greens Beauty College.

Gladys worked at JC Penny for 10 years before her retirement in 2004. Gladys was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and participated in Active Generations in Sioux Falls.

Grateful to have shared Gladys's life with her are her children, Larry (Jane) Sable of Blaine, MN, Steven Schnable of Sioux Falls, SD, and Dale (Becky) Schroeder of Flandreau, SD; her sister, Kathleen Balster of Kimball, SD, her four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Schnable; her parents, Adolph and Jenny Wahl; her brother, Carroll Wahl; and her brother-in-law, Daryle Balster.
