Hazel Minnie Vrooman, age 89, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Tieszen Memorial in Marion, SD. She was born on January 4, 1936, to Mike and Martha Mileusnich in Onida, South Dakota.

Memorial service Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Faith Temple Church, 2121 W 33rd St.

Hazel attended three years of high school in Onida and graduated from Sunshine Bible Academy in 1954. She moved to Pierre, South Dakota, in 1957 and then relocated to Sioux Falls in 1964, where she has lived ever since. Hazel married the love of her life, Danny Vrooman, on August 18, 1957, in Onida, South Dakota. They were blessed with three sons: Bruce, Chad, and Loren.

She was a member of Faith Temple Church and served as the past president of the Women's World Fellowship organization. Hazel worked at the Onida Hospital for a year and then at the Pierre Hospital. Starting in 1996, she did clerical work for a fuel company in Sioux Falls. She enjoyed sewing, listening to music, and playing Scrabble in her free time.

Grateful to have shared her life are her sons, Bruce (Cynthia) Vrooman, and Chad Vrooman; daughter-in-law, Deb Vrooman; grandson, Justin Vrooman; great-grandchildren, Lynneigh, Noah, Kylie, Xavier, and Jade Vrooman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Danny Vrooman; son, Loren Vrooman; grandson, SSG Jeremy D. Vrooman; sisters, Helen (Kenneth) Westphal, Goldie (Floyd) Caldwell; brother, George (Nancy) Mileusnich; daughter-in-law, Susan Vrooman.
