Jack was born on August 3, 1956, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Jack and Patricia (Benton). A proud graduate of Bishop Heelan High School's Class of 1974, Jack carried his faith, humor, and compassion with him throughout his life.
On August 14, 1976, he married the love of his life, Brenda Nichols. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three wonderful children — Jessica, Amanda, and Aaron — who were the pride and joy of his heart.
For 42 years, Jack devoted himself to John Morrell & Co., where his strong work ethic, loyalty, and leadership left a lasting impression on all who worked beside him. Known for his kindness and his easygoing nature, Jack had a gift for making people feel valued and heard.
Beyond his professional life, Jack's true passion was the great outdoors. Whether casting a line in a quiet South Dakota lake or laughing around a campfire, he found peace and happiness in nature and in the company of those he loved most. His fishing trips with friends and family created countless memories that will be cherished forever.
Jack's quick wit, steady wisdom, and gentle humor were the foundation of his family. He had an uncanny ability to bring light to any moment and guide his loved ones with patience and grace. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him.
Jack's love for his grandchildren was unwavering. He cherished every opportunity to share in their lives, finding deep joy and fulfillment in their company.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda; their children, Jessica, Amanda, and Aaron; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Mary and Jim, both of Sioux City, Iowa.
Jack's life was one well-lived — full of laughter, love, and purpose — and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him most.
