James Noonan, age 74, passed away on June 9, 2025, at Avera in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born on June 9, 1951, to Willard and Esther (Schueller) Noonan in Howard, SD.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, from 5-7 PM at Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st St. Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 14, 2025, 10 AM at Miller Westside Chapel. Interment will be held at the Hartford Community Cemetery, 925 E 2nd Ave, Hartford, SD.
Jim graduated from Howard High School in 1969. Shortly after graduating, he joined the National Guard and served for six years. He met the love of his life, Linda Brunsting, and they were married on April 18, 1984. Together, they were blessed with two children, Lynn and Rachel.
Farming was Jim's passion; he also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved camping and spending time outdoors in the fresh air. Known for his gift of gab, Jim enjoyed talking on the phone with his farmer friends. He liked attending church and discussing the Bible, and he had a fondness for going to auctions and collecting various items. Above all, his greatest joy in life was being called Grandpa.
Grateful to have shared his life are his wife of 41 years, Linda Noonan; children, Lynn (Felicia) Noonan, and Rachel (Grant) Flicek; siblings, Jerry (Karen), Reva (John), Carol, and Mary; grandchildren, Alexander, Tyler, Londyn, Piper, Adley, Mack, and Ava; and numerous family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Duane, Leroy, and Eugene.
