Jane Elizabeth Bammert, age 62 years, 4 months, and 10 days, passed away on August 17, 2025.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home – Southside Chapel (7400 S. Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD). The family will greet friends for visitation on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Good Thunder, MN.

Jane was born in Mankato, MN, to William and Dorothy Bammert. She was one of six children, and during pregnancy her parents were told to expect a large baby boy. To their surprise, Jane entered the world alongside her twin sister, Jean.

Jane grew up in Good Thunder, MN, where she attended school and enjoyed competing in softball and volleyball. Her family spent many summers camping, and from those experiences Jane developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and gardening. She graduated from Amboy/Good Thunder High School in 1981 and, on August 14, 1982, married Jay F. Bult. Together they lived in Waseca, MN, before moving to Baltic, SD, in 1989.

Jane and Jay were blessed with three sons. Heartbreak struck the family when their son, Jake, passed away from cancer on July 15, 1993.

Throughout her life, Jane worked in the restaurant industry and eventually made her mark in Sioux Falls when she began working at The Little Coalinga. In 1999, she purchased the restaurant and renamed it Jane's Little Coalinga. She proudly owned and operated it until 2016, creating a welcoming place where she made countless friendships and treated everyone with kindness.

Soon after Jane began operating the business, she met Trevor Hanson. Their relationship blossomed, and Trevor became a devoted partner in her life. Together they shared many years of love, raising their daughter and spending time with Jane's grandchildren, to whom Trevor was a cherished grandfather-figure. Through Jane's courageous battles with health, Trevor remained steadfast, faithfully walking beside her and offering his constant love and support.

Jane had a zest for life and was fond of saying, "Every day is a good day, some days are just better than others." She adored her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy, even as she faced her own battle with cancer. Jane loved her country, was inspired by eagles, and found happiness in her garden. She was well known for her simple pleasures: a can of Mt. Dew, a Marlboro cigarette, and the company of good friends.

Above all else, Jane shared an extraordinary bond with her twin sister, Jean. The two were inseparable—neighbors, lifelong friends, and constant companions whose lives were beautifully intertwined. Jane's daughter once reflected, "it was like I had two moms," a testament to the deep love and devotion the sisters shared.

Jane was a social, spirited woman who loved playing darts, competing in leagues throughout her adult life, and traveling across the country. People were naturally drawn to Jane's warmth, humor, and authenticity—she made those around her feel at home.

Missing Jane is her devoted spouse, Trevor Hanson; sons Joshua (Mary) Bult, Marion, SD, Jesse (Laura) Bult, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter Tayler Hanson, Sioux Falls, SD; son William (Jessica) Ruble, Minneapolis, MN; 8 grandchildren, Jacob, Blayke, Lane, Liam, Devon, Jordyn, Jaylin, Robyn; sisters, Jean Bammert, Sioux Falls, SD, Jolene (Gary) Fay, Good Thunder, MN, Jodi (Tim) Miller, Rapidan, MN, Julie (Frank) Konen, Hutchinson, MN; brother Jeff (Lori) Bammert, Mapleton, MN.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Bammert; her dear son Jacob; precious granddaughter Rylee Jo and nephew Joseph (Joey).
