Funeral Services for Janet Laubach, 77, of Canton, SD, will be held at Canton United Methodist Church on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 6:00pm in Canton, SD. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Janet's memory may be made to the Canton Volunteer Fire Department or the Canton United Methodist Church.
Janet was born in Salt Lake City, UT, on December 27, 1947, and was adopted by Joe and Mary (Manarolla) Coykendall. She grew up on the Joe Miller Ranch just outside of Laramie, Wyoming, going to an oil camp school through the 6th grade, then having to live part-time in Laramie for school years 7-12, graduating in 1965 from Laramie High School.
On October 3, 1970, Janet married Tom Laubach of Cheyenne, Wyoming. They have two children, Nate Laubach and Sara Hill. They raised the children in Hanna, Wyoming, where she was a secretary for a mining company. Finding it difficult to find babysitters, she became a school bus driver, where she could take the children with her on routes and school activities. She retired in Gillette, WY, with 30+ years of driving experience.
Tom and Janet moved to Canton, SD, just a few years ago to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Janet loved watching her kids and grandkids in sporting events and horse events./, playing bingo, putting together puzzles, shooting competitive handguns, raising boer goats, riding and driving horses, making personalized cards, and loved her Chihuahuas.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Laubach, and Children, Nate (Laurel) Laubach and Sara Hill. Grandchildren, Colton (Karisa) Laubach, Kyle (Kalyn) Laubach, Kaden Laubach, Carlee Laubach, Sage Hill, and Hawk Hill. Two great-grandchildren, Creek and Hazer Laubach.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, Steve.
