It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jason Dean Carroll, age 41, on June 11, 2026 in Omaha, NE surround by family and friends.

Jason was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Rodney Carroll and Cleda Gerhart. Throughout his life he was surrounded by family who loved him deeply, including his bonus mother Jody Stewart, stepfather Larry Miller, and adopted parents Rich and Morice, all of whom played important roles in his life.

Jason was united in marriage to Natasha Swanson in 2011, and to this union a daughter Briley, was born. After their relationship ended, he married Tammy Conlon, and together they welcomed a son, Huxlee. At the time of his passing, Jason was engaged to his "Ride-or-Die" Sarah Prall.

Jason proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police Soldier (31B) from 2008 - 2012. During his service he deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan (2010–2011) in support of combat operations during the Global War on Terror.

For his honorable service, Jason earned numerous military awards including the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Mechanic Badge with Driver-Wheeled Vehicle Clasp.

Like many combat veterans, Jason carried the invisible wounds of war and struggled with PTSD following his military service, a battle he fought with strength for many years.

Above all, Jason loved his children, his son Huxlee and daughter Briley, who were the greatest joys in his life. He also shared a special bond with his loyal service dog, Delta, who remained faithfully by his side through life's hardest moments.

Jason enjoyed fishing, camping, paracord crafting, helping DJ when needed, NASCAR, where he proudly cheered for Chase Elliott, and was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan.

Jason will be remembered as a loving father, devoted family member, proud Soldier, and a man who fought battles both seen and unseen.

Rest easy, Jason. Your watch is over. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the legacy you leave behind. You will never be forgotten.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jason Carroll will be held at 1PM on Thursday, June 25, at Miller Funeral Home South. 7400 S. Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108
