It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Jason M. Marsh's passing on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the age of 51. Jason was a cherished member of the Sioux Falls, South Dakota community and will be profoundly missed.

Born on July 15, 1973, to Alan and LaVonne (Fincher) Marsh, Jason grew up in Humboldt, South Dakota. He graduated from Parker High School in 1991, a milestone that marked the beginning of a journey filled with service, dedication, and love for the outdoors.

After a year at Northern State University in Aberdeen, Jason followed his heart and enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1994. His time aboard the USS Kitty Hawk in San Diego, California, shaped his character and instilled a sense of duty that he carried throughout his life. After an honorable discharge in September 1997, he continued to serve in the South Dakota Army National Guard.

Returning to Sioux Falls, Jason found fulfillment as a licensed insurance agent at Esurance for many years, and in 2020, he embraced a new chapter as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. His warm smile and kind spirit brought joy to those around him.

Outside of work, Jason was passionate about the outdoors. He delighted in hunting, yet his greatest love was fishing, where he found peace and happiness. He also cherished moments spent with a good book.

Jason leaves behind his beloved sister, Julie Story; two supportive brothers, Jody (Julie) Marsh and Alan (Cathy) Marsh; and numerous nieces and nephews whose lives he enriched with his presence and love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and LaVonne Marsh, and his brother-in-law, Stan. As we remember Jason, let us hold close the beautiful memories and the love he shared with us all. He will forever be in our hearts.

Jason will be laid to rest at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 10th, 2025 at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
