Our beloved Jeffrey Scot Margeson, 62, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 12, 2026, following a tragic accident. Though he left us much too soon, his life was packed full of adventure, laughter, and hard work.
Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 South Minnesota Avenue, with a private burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Jeff was born on a leap day – February 29, 1964 – to Janice and Thomas Margeson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He spent many great years mastering auto body work at T Motors Inc with his family before bringing his talents to tile craftmanship. There he had the joy of working with his brother Dan for the last two decades.
Jeff’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves a beautiful legacy through his mother, Janice; his sons, Brian and Scott; his precious grandchildren, Haylie, Logan, and Rylee; and his brothers, Dan and Todd. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas, grandparents W.R. and Flora Margeson and Earl and Lizzie Westegaard.
If there was fun to be had, Jeff was there. He lived for classic cars and spent his happiest days in nature – whether he was boating, hunting, snowmobiling through Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains, or reeling in big fish out in Florida.
To many of his friends, he was affectionately known as “Budley.” While the exact origin of the nickname remains a mystery to some, any one of his many friends would surely be happy to share the story.
We will forever cherish every laugh, every trip, and every beautiful memory we shared. Jeff’s adventurous spirit lives on in all of us.
