John Francis O'Hara, beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend, went home to Jesus on July 28, 2026.

Visitation with the family present will begin at 9 am with a service at 10 am on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 South Minnesota Avenue, with burial at the South Dakota State Veteran's Cemetery.

John "Jack" was born November 10, 1955, in Watertown, South Dakota, to William and Geraldine (Schmitt) O'Hara. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1975 and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1975–1981.

On November 13, 1982, John married the love of his life, Noreen McCune. Together they raised their two children, Amanda (Jeff) and Adrian (Tiffany), and were blessed with six grandchildren: Ainsley, Ezrie, Judah, Greyson, Dawson, and Thaddeus.

John and Noreen lived many years in Watertown, where John worked at Minnesota Rubber. In 2019, they moved to Sioux Falls to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Family was at the heart of John's life. He loved spending time with Noreen, playing games with his family—especially Mexican Train—and sitting on the deck with his grandchildren. He enjoyed finding treasures at rummage and estate sales and even shared that passion with Ainsley through their little shop in 605 Antiques.

John faced many medical procedures and surgeries in his final years, always meeting each challenge with strength and a smile. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings so well, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

John was also a loved member of Resonate Church.

John leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, family memories, and faith. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing he is now home with Jesus.

He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.
