John "Jack" Wayne Fraser, age 89, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
He was born February 4, 1936 on a farm in Davidson County, South Dakota to Floyd and Irene (Fusselman) Fraser. John graduated from Notre-Dame High School in Mitchell, South Dakota. He then enlisted in the Army on September 10, 1956 and he served in Korea. After John's time in the service, he attended electrical trade school in Chicago. He went on to become an electrician and later became a business agent for the IBEW Electrical Union. In 1976, John started Midwestern Electric with Terry Prestbo, where he remained until his retirement.
In May of 1962, John was joined in marriage to Genevieve "Gen" Fraser. Together they had three children, Mark, Julie and Tim. John was a beloved husband, father, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children Mark Fraser, Julie Silva, and Tim (Lisa) Fraser; and two grandchildren, Grace Silva and Cole Fraser. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve; his parents, Irene and Floyd; and his brother, Donald.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 25, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church (1600 S. Marion Rd., Sioux Falls, SD). Family will be present for visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Miller Funeral Home – Westside Chapel (6200 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls, SD) with a Wake Service beginning at 6:30 pm.
