Joseph David Samis, 79, of Sioux Falls passed away August 11, 2025.  Beloved brother of Mark Samis (SD), Jim Samis (CA), Judy Nothnagel [Joe] (IL), Sean Samis [Tara] (WI), Pete Samis [Patty] (AZ), Greg Samis [Vicki d.] ND, Kevin Samis (SD), Aaron Levisay [Sheri] (SD), Ben Levisay [Krista] (SD), Donna Samis [w. Dan Samis] (MD), and stepson of Jean Samis (CANADA).  He is also mourned by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-niece and great-nephews.

Joe was born the eldest of nine children on July 31, 1946 to George and Katherine Samis d. in Phoenix, AZ.  He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Dan, cousin Laura, and sister-in-law Vicki.

In his earlier years, Joe was an avid follower of sports and an expert on SD local politics.  He loved his Twins and Vikings.  A special memory was seeing his first Vikings game at the US Bank Stadium at the age of 78.
