Obituary

Kenneth Bratzel, 81 of Sioux Falls, passed away suddenly with family at his side on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Visitation with the family present will be from 10 to 11:30 am with a funeral service at 11:30 am on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Miller Westside Chapel, 6200 West 41st Street.

Kenneth Bratzel, son of Ernest and Anna (Voegele) Bratzel, was born on February 1, 1943 in Regan, ND. He grew up there and received his education, graduating from Regan High School in 1962. He attended college in Wahpeton, ND, until moving to Sioux Falls, SD, and taking a position at KSFY.

Kenneth was united in marriage with Midge Roitsch on June 15, 1968, in Bristol, SD. The couple lived in Sioux Falls and began to raise a family. Kenneth continued at KSFY and worked at Sioux Radio doing repair work. He worked at Anacomp until having to retire in 2006 due to injury. In retirement, he owned and operated Kenny's Rods and Reels Services. If you brought in a rod anywhere in town to be fixed, there was a good chance Kenny was the one doing the work.

Kenny was a strong silent type that you could really look up to. He was a truly great guy that was welcoming and gave great advice. He was typically a silent type, but a jack-of-all trades. He loved to hunt, fish, and cook. Family was one of the most important things to Kenny and he would show affection to all of his loved ones.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Midge Bratzel, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter Melissa Bratzel, Sioux Falls, SD; granddaughter Samantha Bratzel (Joshua); grandsons Kody Bratzel (Emma), Kade Bratzel (Kayleah); great-grandchildren Evelyn and Karson; and many other relatives and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Anna Bratzel; brother Allen Bratzel; son Kensley (Lee) Bratzel; and mother and father-in-law Evelyn and Walter Roitsch.

The family of Kenneth Bratzel thanks you for your support and presence today.
