Kenneth Dale Lundquist, age 88 of Sioux Falls, SD, died February 10, 2026, at Sanford Hospital. A visitation will be held at the Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD on Monday, February 16 from 4pm to 6pm. The service is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17 at 11am, at the Harrisburg United Methodist Church, followed by a light luncheon. Internment with military honors will follow at 2pm at the Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.

Ken was born on February 27, 1937, to Arthur and Minnie (Homuth) Lundquist in Erwin, SD. After graduating from Erwin High School in 1955, he joined the U.S. Army, spending much of his service time in Germany. He was a member of Sioux Falls American Legion Post 911.

He married Barbara Rolsma on October 22, 1958, at the Methodist Church in Arlington, SD. Ken dedicated his life to partnering with his wife and raising their three children in Sioux Falls, SD. He worked for more than 50 years as a brick mason, a trade he took great pride in.

Throughout his life, Ken enjoyed fast‑pitch softball, flying—holding both private and commercial pilot licenses, metal detecting, fishing, hunting, feeding and watching birds, woodworking, reading historical books, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Through the years, the family hosted several exchange students. He enjoyed taking each of them to historical locations around the region. Ken and Barb enjoyed a visit to Norway to visit one of the former students and their family, and two others have returned to the US to visit their host family.  In September of 2025, Ken was a participant in a trip with other veterans to Washington DC with Midwest Honor Flight.

Most of all, Ken loved his large immediate and extended family. He especially cherished the annual reunions with his siblings and their families.

Ken is survived by his wife, Barb; his children: Janet Lundquist of Sioux Falls, SD; Judith (Brad) Duffy of Winner, SD; and Debra (Eric) Lebakken of Edgerton, KS. He is also survived by his granddaughters: Pamela (Orlando) Diaz of Chicago, IL; Ellen (Eric) Engberg of Harrisburg, SD; Katlin Duffy of Sioux Falls, SD; Allison Duffy of Chamberlain, SD; and Shannon (Tanner) Duffy-Hohn of Rapid City, SD; and great-grandchildren Aiden, Charlotte, Wesley, Stiles, Matilda, and Miles; brother Larry Lundquist of De Smet, SD; and sister Gladys (Burton) Horsted of Sioux Falls, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Harold, Neal, Roy, Raymond, Stanley, Harlow, and Robert; his sisters Esther (Bud) Daily and Joyce (Virgil) Jensen; and many other beloved relatives.
