Kevin Ryan Miller, age 59, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at Sanford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Kevin was born on September 20, 1966, in Key West, Florida, to Steven Miller and Mary Ellen Everhart. After his father's military career ended in 1972, Kevin and his family relocated to Sioux Falls, where he grew up actively participating in taekwondo. One of his proudest accomplishments was earning his black belt. Kevin attended Washington High School during his teenage years and, in 1985, earned his GED, allowing him to pursue his dream of serving his country. In 1986, Kevin proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Pollock submarine until 1990.

Kevin had a lifelong passion for cars and mechanics—he loved tearing things apart, rebuilding them, and bringing them back to life. Whether it was an engine, a project around the house, or anything that needed fixing, Kevin could always figure it out. He was happiest when tinkering and creating something with his hands.

In 2002, Kevin welcomed his daughter, Alexis Rose Miller, who was the light of his life. He cherished his role as her father and took great pride in watching her grow and find her own path.

Kevin is survived by his parents, Mary Ellen Miller of Sioux Falls, and Steven and Francie Miller of Sioux Falls; his brothers Ted Miller (Nikki) and Seth Miller, both of Brandon, South Dakota; Chris Miller and Ronda Roscoe of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his sister Stesha Oltmanns (Nick) of Lennox, South Dakota. He is also survived by his beloved daughter, Alexis Rose Miller.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rick Miller and Tony Miller.

Kevin will be laid to rest at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery in the spring of 2026.
