Kipton Johnson passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at Ava's Hospice Home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Kipton was born on July 23, 1965, in Vermillion, South Dakota to Lyle and Edith (Knutson) Johnson. He graduated from Irene High School in 1983 and immediately joined his dad, working in construction at Johnson Construction. Even though he left construction when his dad retired, Kipton continued utilizing his construction skills, doing odd jobs here and there as well as sharing his cooking skills. Throughout his life, he enjoyed raising springer spaniels with his dad, cars (especially Mopar), outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was a hockey fan and enjoyed a Stampede game now and then.

He is survived by his brother, Mark (Michelle) Johnson, nephew Zach (Kylie) Johnson, nephew Tyler (Lexie) Johnson, three great-nieces, three great-nephews, stepmother, Marlene Johnson, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Edith, grandparents, his aunts Sue Matthews and Trina Knutson, uncles Jim Johnson and Robert Johnson, and cousins Craig Harris and Michael Johnson.
