It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Larry Neises, who peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at his home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was 69 years old, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Born Lawrence Francis Dean Neises on October 8, 1955, in Mitchell, South Dakota, he was the cherished son of Basil and Shirley (Esser) Neises. Larry spent his formative years in Sioux Falls, where he graduated from Washington Senior High School in 1973. He devoted much of his life to the concrete world and most recently held the position of concrete supervisor at Babe Stack Construction, where his expertise and dedication shone brightly.

On November 21, 1980, Larry married the love of his life, Brenda MacDonald, in Sioux Falls. Together, they built a warm and loving home filled with laughter and joy and raised two wonderful sons, Billy and Eric.

Larry had a zest for life that was evident in his passions. He loved riding his motorcycle and shared countless memorable rides with a close-knit group of friends. A gifted woodworker, he poured his heart into creating intricate hand-carved pieces, including charming child-sized rockers shaped like the motorcycles he cherished. Yet, above all, his greatest joy came from being a grandpa. Larry's love for his family was boundless, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

As we remember Larry, let us celebrate the kindness, love, and laughter he brought into our lives. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Grateful for having shared his life with are his sons, Billy (Leah) Neises of Sioux Falls and Eric Neises of Sioux Falls; cherished grandchildren, Peyton, Spencer, Bryson, and Connor; two sisters, Lorrie (Cary) Ediger and Jody (John) Peck; and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Neises, and his parents, Basil and Shirley Neises.

A visitation with family present will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Miller Funeral Home – Westside Chapel, 6200 West 41st Street, Sioux Falls, SD. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Miller Funeral Home – Westside Chapel. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Garretson, South Dakota
